In this paper the continuity of some types of the antler items during the Late Roman and Early Byzantine period is discussed. These are: 1. the three partite combs with two rows of teethes and flat short edges, ornamented by the geometrical motives (T.I), 2. the ellipsoid appliqués for textile or leather with two perforations for fastening, ornamented by 'buds' or concentric circlets (T.II, 1-9), 3. the orthogonal sheets of unknown function, probably also fastened on organic materials (textile, leather wood), for no traces of metal corrosion could be found on them, ornamented by 'buds' and concentric circlets over the whole surface (T.II, 10-12), 4.the spindle-whorls of hemispherical and conical shape, ornamented by the geometrical motives consisting grooves, 'buds', concentric circlets, rosettes and radial lines, maybe forming the solar or uranic symbols (T.III T.IV,l-3), 5.the knife handles, ornamented by the geometrical motives made of 'buds', concentric circlets, reticulate and zigzag lines (T.IV,4-5) and 6. the handles (?) of unknown function, ornamented in the same manner (T.IV 6-7). These types of antler items were found in the archaeological units of the IV and first half of V century as well as in those dating the VI century. The continuity of some types could be noticed also in the ceramic and glass ware, and fibulae (TV-VII). This proves the continuity of life in the rural settlements, after the destruction of Roman Limes and cities on the territory of Upper Moesia by invasion of Huns in 441/443. A.D., although the archaeological horizon of the second half of V century has not been yet noted on our sites. The end of the production of these types was made by the invasion of Avars and Slaves at the end of VI and beginning of the VII century.en
