Abstract
A study investigates human skeletal remains from one grave (from the Earlier Iron Age), which were excavated during 1969, in Vrdnik (Site Pećine) (fig. 1-3). Although skeletal remains were well preserved, but incomplete and fragmentary, we managed to determinate sex and age of this individual (male, around 25 years old) (figs. 4-9; table 1-5). Dental analysis shows presence of attrition, periodontal disorder, enamel hypoplasia and disorder in tooth eruption. A careful observation of skeletal remains demonstrates that this person suffered of osteochondritis dissecans and osteoarthris (caused by mechanical stress and physical activities). Since any of these pathological changes couldn't be the cause of death, we can say that he probably died from natural causes.
